Ollie Jean McKnight, a long-time resident of Layton, Utah, passed away September 20, 2018 in South Jordan, Utah. She was born on November 5, 1930 to Ruben A. Brown and Ina Elizabeth Cranny Brown in Afton, Wyoming. She married Boyce McKnight on March 11, 1950 in Las Vegas, NV. Boyce preceded her in death in 2012. During their military life they were stationed in many states and abroad, including in England and Germany; which enriched their lives and their children’s lives.

Jean enjoyed bowling, swimming, and had many achievement pins for both. She also enjoyed camping with her kids. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. She was always up for any challenge. Her happy place was having family around her.

She is survived by her children, Sherry (Michael) Fitzgerald, and Michael McKnight; grandchildren, Shand Ball, Angila Johnson, Meghann Bray, Nichole McKnight, Chris McKnight, Justin McKnight and Daniel McKnight; and seven great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Chief Master Sgt. Boyce Linden McKnight. Her parents, Ina and Ruben; brothers, Byron, Ladell, and Ralph Brown; sisters, Helen Zeigler and Florence Lumley; and son, Donald McKnight.

Inurnment will be at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah.
