Ruben Ladell Brown 54, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died Friday May 4, 1979 in a Albuquerque Hospital.He was born December 9, 1924 in Smoot, Wyoming to Ruben Adolphus and Ina Cranney Brown Ackerman.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served three years of active combat in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was awarded the purple heart and bronze star after being wounded on Luzon in the Philipines. After honorable discharge from the Army,he became engaged in the construction of high voltage power transmission lines with his older brother Ralph and others in the Star Valley of Wyoming.

He started as a groundman and advanced to project superintendent. Almost of all of his career was with William Kibbe's Jelco Construction Company, building transmission lines across the eight Western States, from Alaska to Texas, and all the states in between.

He married Nancy J. Morrell, in Richland, Washington in 1948. They had two children, Donna E. McCauley, and Thomas Brown, they divorced in 1953. In 1957 he married Mildred Paul of Devil's Lake, North Dakota, they had one child Ann Louise Brown. Mildred passed away in Albuquerque in 1972.

He is survived by two daughters Ann Brown of Albuquerque, Donna McCauley (David) of Richland, a son Thomas Brown (William) of Richland, Washington, three grandchildren, brothers Ralph and Byron, sisters, Helen Ziegler, Florence Lumley, and Jean McKnight. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque with full military honors.
