Norman W. Bodily, 74, went to heaven on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. He is survived by the love of his life and best friends, Laraine C. Bodily, and his children, Mark Norman Bodily, Noralee Green, and Leisa Ann Selden. He loved his in-law children, Holly Shepherd Bodily, Wayne Green and Ted Selden. He has nine grandchildren who love him very much. They will remember a fun-loving grandpa who loved to tell a joke and didn't hesitate to play with them on the floor. He loved to play the harmonica and the piano while his grandchildren danced around.

Norman was born on May 31, 1930 in Gusher, Utah to Christopher and Dortha Bodily. He served a mission to San Antonio, Texas. Though born in a rural community, Norman went on to graduate from college and became a doctor and Anesthesiologist, M.D. After retiring to St. George, UT, Norman and Laraine were stake missionaries in Leeds, and then served a St. George visitor's center mission. They also worked in the temple. Norman loved the Lord with all of his heart and knew that he would be with his family forever. Although his family will miss him, his testimony of Christ and a better day will live in their hearts forever.

Dad's motto was "A family who plays together stays together." Although he worked hard, he was never too busy to be with his family. His family will remember many boat outings to Lake Powell, Jeep expeditions to Canyonlands, ski days, camping trips and Christmases at home. We will remember his great big hugs and his wonderful sense of humor. Norman was also quite an artist. He painted several awesome paintings that hang in the homes of his family and remind them of him daily.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 24, 2005, 12 p.m., Ivins LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be held Monday, 10:30-11:30 a.m., prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Ivins City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221. Condolences may be sent through the Metcalf Web site at www.metcalfmortuary.com.
