Owego: Born an angel that cared for others, she now rests with angels in heaven. Mom, Wife, Gramma, Great-Gramma, Sister, Aunt, Friend and Cat Momma, Ruth gave from the bottom of her heart and loved the people in her life fiercely. Born on a farm in Tunkhannock, Pa. on June 29, 1930 to Della and Wellington Tiffany, she developed a great love for animals, from the cows to the kittens, everyone had a name. Her sisters, Alberta and Mary shared the joys of childhood with her and they remained very close into adulthood. Ruth was very proud to graduate from Wilkesbarre General as an RN and worked 25 years in the field. In June of 1955, she married the one true love of her life, Ronald. Along came Susanne (Jeff Tiffany) and Jane (Kevin Livermore) and a home in Owego. The years passed with many good times and joy that included trips with the Pedros, summers at the lake and hours of spirits and laughter at the local watering holes. Ruth's life was blessed by many miracles, her grandchildren, Luke (Hannah), Kate (Chris) and Zack (Dakota), Rachel (Brooks), Caroline (Matt). Her great grandchildren, Landon, Nash, Benjamin and Samantha Jane (born on her greatgrampa's birthday!), and Baby Moses on the way. Special thank you's to Dr. Shean Barrett and Karen Worden, Dr. Pandya and Becky, the nursing staff at Lourdes and Crouse Hospitals, Cheryl Thompson (the cat whisperer), Lourdes-at-home, Lourdes Hospice and all of the friends, family, co-workers and facebookers for the support and prayers through this time. Services will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego with the Father David Bollinger, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. As a special remembrance of Ruth, have a beer or a glass of wine with someone and tell them you love them. In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Maddie's Meadows or adopt a cat. Condolences may be made to Ruth's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
