LaFrance, Ronald N.

Ronald N. LaFrance, 81, of Owego passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Tracy and Lela Christian LaFrance; and brothers, Boyd and Gerald LaFrance.

Ron, Daddy or Poppy, whatever his title was, we loved him from our hearts and souls. He gave us all gifts like a sense of humor, a quick wit and strength to be all that we can be. For this we thank him and feel blessed to have had him in our lives. His family and friends will remember a man who always had a name for everything and his "Ronisms" could be a great read. His smile was genuine; his eyes are the portal into his kind and gentle soul. Oh, how we loved him and will miss him terribly.

He is survived by his loving family, wife, Ruth, daughters Susanne and Jane, their spouses Jeff and Kevin. The true joy in his life came from his grandchildren, Lucus and his wife, Hannah, Kate and her Chris and Zachary, a great grandson, Landon and another coming in June. We will all make sure these little ones hear the "poppisms" and grow up knowing that we all came from greatness and especially, love! Ron retired from IBM in Owego after 31 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Masons, and a member of the Meshoppen Rod & Gun Club. Ron served in the Air Force and was a member of the VFW Post #1371 and the American Legion Post #401 in Owego.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10:00 am at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego with Rev. David Bollinger and Rev. Lenny Jackson officiating. Family invites friends to call on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 4-6 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Rons name to Owego Fire/Emergency Squad, PO Box 22, Owego, NY 13827 or Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850. www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com
