He was born on February 20, 1956 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Henry F. Bell Sr and Leva Louise (Criswell) Bell. He married Carol Dalton on August 25, 1989 in Boswell; she survives. He was a 1974 graduate of Benton Central High School. He had worked at Fairfield for 38 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the Old Fashioned Baptist Church of Independence. Joe enjoyed motorcycles, restoring old cars, going to his church and serving his Lord with his church family. He loved to watch The Walton's with his dog, Buddy, who was always by his side. Joe enjoyed going to McDonald's every morning and visiting his friends whom he called "The Breakfast Club". Joe was an amazing husband, wonderful dad and great Papaw to all his grandchildren. He was known as "JoJo" to all his siblings. Just remember as Joe always said, "EVERYTHING'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT".
Surviving with his wife are six children; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven siblings; and several niece and nephews. He is preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Bell; and one sister, Linda Campbell.
Visitation to Celebrate Joe's Life will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 4-8 PM at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN. Funeral Celebration will be at 11 AM on Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Old Fashion United Baptist Church of Independence, 7958 E. Independence Rd., Attica, IN, with Joe Whitehead, Henry Bell Jr and Ronny Geyer officiating. Burial will be at Boswell Cemetery.
