She graduated from West High School in June of 1942. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission. After returning home from her mission, she was employed by the LDS Church.

Betty developed a passion for genealogy research and spent countless hours researching her ancestors’ line and assisted many others in that endeavor. Betty served as the Relief Society President, along with many other church callings.

She married the love of her life, Osborne M. "Oz" Pender, on September 16, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with three children.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Dean) Adams; son, Ben (Carrie) Pender; grandchildren, Cody (Katie) Pender, Cooper Pender, and Hunter Plese; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Connor, and Kinley Pender. Betty was preceded in death by "Oz" Pender and son, Rex Pender.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the staff at Holladay Healthcare for their gentle, loving care and to Betty's special angels: Amber, Grace, and Vickie.
