The available records seem to indicate that sometime in the mid 1840's, Margaretha's husband Nikolaus passed away in Germany. After his death, Margaretha and her family emigrated to Ontario. Margaretha, Catherine, Julianna, and Margarethe are all reported in the 1851 Canadian census for Wilmot, Waterloo County, Ontario.
For the next several years, Margaretha lived with her daughter Catherine and Catherine's family in Waterloo and Grey Counties in Ontario. Margaretha's son-in-law Jacob Weber is the informant on her death record and she is buried in the same cemetery as Catherine and Jacob.
