Margaretha Rech married Johann Nikolaus Matzenbacher January 24, 1810 in Konken, Bavaria. Together they had 5 known children:

1. Caroline Marguerite born March 23, 1811 in Konken; married Philipp Jung December 24, 1842 in Gries, Bavaria.
2. Johann Nikolaus born May 31, 1817 in Konken; married, first, Carolina Couturier on May 3, 1845 in Obermiesau, Bavaria; and, second, Katharina Hammel on December 31, 1854, also in Obermiesau.
3. Catharina born 23 March 1823 in Albessen, Bavaria; married Jacob N Weber in 1847 after arriving in Ontario.
4. Julianna born March 12, 1825 in Albessen; married Daniel Klein February 15, 1846 in Obermiesau.
5. Margarethe born October 26, 1829 in Albessen; married George Aebig January 11, 1853 in Waterloo, Ontario.

The available records seem to indicate that sometime in the mid 1840's, Margaretha's husband Nikolaus passed away in Germany. After his death, Margaretha and her family emigrated to Ontario. Margaretha, Catherine, Julianna, and Margarethe are all reported in the 1851 Canadian census for Wilmot, Waterloo County, Ontario.

For the next several years, Margaretha lived with her daughter Catherine and Catherine's family in Waterloo and Grey Counties in Ontario. Margaretha's son-in-law Jacob Weber is the informant on her death record and she is buried in the same cemetery as Catherine and Jacob.
