Elder Bryce Bateman, 71, died Friday, Aug. 25, 1995, at Monroe Memorial Hospital in Ocala.
He was born in Elisinore, Utah, and grew up in Salt Lake City. He was a retired department manager with an insurance company in Plano. He also managed the bishop's Storehouse in Plano. After retirement he drove a school bus. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. He was serving his second mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Interlachen branch with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Carla Bateman of Plano; daughter, Marsha Bateman of Plano; sons, Bart and Bud Bateman, both of Plano; twin sisters, Bertha Heath of Salt Lake City and Bernice Dillree of Ocean Park, Wash.; and a brother, Fred Bateman of Salt Lake City.
A memorial service is planned Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Interlachen, with President Danny De Loach, Bishop Frank Crabtree, Bishop Richard Masey and President William O. Copeland officiating. The funeral is under the direction of Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano. Burial will be in Alpine, Utah, under the direction of Anderson Mortuary in American Park, Utah.
