Marzie was born on October 1, 1924, the second daughter of Walter Crook and Annie Belle Thompson in Memphis, Tennessee.
Marzie at the age of 56 years old earned her high school diploma on May 7, 1980 from South Haven High School – Adult Education (Joy, joy!)
Marzie was married to Junie George Maddox and William P. Pearson
Marzie has been a faithful member of Emmanuel Community Church sine 1945. She was a member of the adult choir, Senior Usher (former president), life long member of the trustee board, VBS leader/teacher, and Boy Scout leader.
Marzie confessed Christ when she was ten years old in 1934.
Marzie worked many places – for the Hamlin, the Nook, and the Green families in addition to DuWel and South Haven Rubber Company from she retired.
Marzie loved cooking big meals, bowling, and partying with her friends of course talking on the phone with her friends.
Marzie is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, beloved Sister – Beatrice Price, son – William R. Pearson, Jr., and niece – LaWanda Russ.
Marzie leaves to mourn her children – Cubie L. Maddox, Dorothy M. Maddox, Claudia O. Maddox, and Laura E. White, nephews – Robert (Lanette) Garrison, grandchildren – L’Tonya (Andre) Anthony, Terri Sharpp, Chaneca White, Walter Maddox, Sherrese White, Rachel White, and Tempest Maddox, great grandchildren – Asia Maddox, Amber Maddox, Aaron White, Diamond Anthony, Talia Sharpp, Troi Sharpp, Trevaughn White, Nataijah White, Azariyah White, and Enijah White, great-great grandchild – Azarie Anthony, and a host of friends and relatives.
Wake will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Emmauel Community Church in South Haven.
Funeral services will follow the wake at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Fred Cunningham officiating.
Marzie will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
