M. BIEDENHARN DIES AT CAMP
Well Known Leading Business Man Succumbs Sunday of Heart Attack
A sudden heart attack dealt almost immediate death to Malcolm S. Biedenharn, 57, at the close of a day's outing at Lake Bruin, Sunday night. With a party of others, including his brother, Henry, he had prepared for bed in the family's camp house when the attack came. Medical aid was forthcoming but death resulted within a few minutes.

The death of Mr. Biedenharn came as a shock as he was one of the city's leading business men and his death follows closely on that of William Joseph Riley on April 14, 1950, another prominent member of the local business world.

Mr. Biedenharn was born October 25, 1893, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He attended high school there and then entered Mississippi A & M College, where he remained until 1910 when he accepted a position with the Delta Trust & Bank Company of Vicksburg. From that position he came to Monroe in 1912 to become secretary-treasurer of the Ouachita Coca Cola Company, owned and operated by his family. He has held that position ever since.

During World War I, he was overseas 13 months. His business connections are numerous. Besides his connection to Coca Cola Company, he is vice-president of the Board of Directors of Delta Airlines; member of the Ouachita National Bank; member of the Bayou DeSiard Country Club; member of the Chamber of Commerce; L. B. Faulk post American Legion; member of the F & AM; Lotus Club and also a past president of the National Bottler's Association. He was active in all civic affairs and ranked as one of the outstanding business men of the state.
