February 1, 1982, Lawrence A., of Wayne, Pa., son of the late Sylvester E. and Adelaide Piccioli Megargee; survived by several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, 10 a.m., St. Katharine of Siena Church, Wayne, where relatives and friends are invited to call after 9:30 a.m. Interment in New Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia.

Lawrence A. Megargee, 81, an artist who spent his later years working as a volunteer teacher in area hospitals, died Monday at Bryn Mawr Hospital. Formerly of New York, in recent years he lived in Wayne.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Megargee grew up surrounded by art. One of 12 children, all of whom drew and sketched to pass the time, he began working with pencil and sketch pad in his youth.
Animals and landscapes became his forte. He studied at the National Academy, the Art Students League, the Pratt Institute and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
He had no immediate survivors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, St Katharine of Siena, Wayne.
