Funeral service for Juanita Edwards Robertson, 66, of Houston formally of West Columbia will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Blue Run Baptist Church, 365 N 16th Street, West Columbia, Texas 77486 where Rev. Josef Gordon will be the officiator and Pastor Felton R. Joseph will be the eulogist. Burial will follow at Zion Camp Community Cemetery in Wharton, Texas.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at E. Viola & Son Funeral Home, 205 N Broad Street, West Columbia, Texas 77486.
On January 3, 1952 a daughter was born to Prince and Priscilla Edwards whom they name Juanita May Edwards. She was reared in West Columbia, Texas where she attended Charlie Brown High School and graduated from Columbia-Brazoria ISD in the class of 1970
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D. T. Thomas, later she united with Blue Run Baptist Church where Elder E. L. Carroll was pastor. In recent years, she was a founding member of the Open Door Community Church in Manvel where she served faithful as greeter until her health failed. She served under the direction of Pastor Felton Ray Joseph who is her current pastor. She enjoyed shopping, reading, crossword puzzles and watch television. Her close family considered her "A Glamour Girl". Her kind and gentle spirit will live on in the lives of those she loved and that loved her.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Leon, Steve and Prince, Jr. Edwards
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of forty-five years, Harold Robertson, Sr.; one son, Harold Robertson, Jr.; one brother, Charlie Barnes (Almetrie); four sisters, Rosie Wiley (Elijah), Mattie Humphrey (Amos), Dorothy Edwards (John) and Bessie Edwards; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Hill, Gayle Bradshaw and Mary Robertson; three brothers-in-law, Eddie Robertson ( Minnie), Lawrence Robertson and Robert Robertson (Suzanne); one uncle, John Joiner; three aunts, Arthryne Joiner, Katherine Joiner and Janette Beverly as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
