Born in Elmira, he lived in the Genoa area for most of his life. He graduated from Southern Cayuga Central School in 1976. He worked 13 years at McQuay-Snyder General Corp. in Auburn before becoming disabled in 1990. He attended New Hope Bible Fellowship Church of Moravia.
Survivors: His wife of 21 years, the former Jacqueline Hilliard; a son, George D. of Weedsport; a sister, Diane Kratzer of Moravia; his stepmother, Lydia Burgman of Virginia; a granchild.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shurtleff Funeral Home. Private burial. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, 3177 Main St., Genoa.
