Mr. Hal Wayne Newton, Sr. age 75 of Marble, formerly of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Hal was born November 1, 1942 in Murphy, NC to the late C.B. Newton and the late Birdell Brooks Newton. A member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ronald Newton, also a nephew, Jason D. Newton. Hal worked as a superintendent for Homelite/John Deer for many years and enjoyed golfing and farming in his spare time.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, NC. Interment will follow in the Peachtree Memorial Cemetery.
