Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, at the Wheaton Congregational Church for Mrs. Lucy M. Northup, 82, Wamego, who died Sunday, October 16, at the Wamego hospital. She had been a resident of Wamego for the last several years, having moved there from Wheaton.
The daughter of Edmund and Ida Grimm Adams, she was born December 11, 1900, at River, Iowa. She had lived in the Blaine and Wheaton communities since 1912.
Mrs. Northup was a member of the Congregational Church, Ladies Aid of the church, and the Happy Hour Club all at Wheaton; the Shamrock Extension Homemakers Unit at Blaine and the auxiliary of Harold Johnson Post No. 172, of the American Legion at Wamego. She was Wheaton correspondent for The Onaga Herald for several years.
She was married to James E. Northup, August 17, 1921, at Wheaton. He died January 22, 1964.
Survivors include three sons, Wayne Northup, Salina, Arthur Northup, Kansas City, Ks.; and Russell Northup, Meriden. Also three sisters, Mrs. Neva Noe, Topeka, Mrs. Eunice Tibbetts, and Mrs. Vivian Harrington, Wamego; a brother, Franklin Adams, Topeka; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Burial was in the Congregational cemetery at Wheaton.
