Carrie married Arthur Valroy Monie on August 24, 1924 in Marquand. He preceded her in death on November 09, 1980. They had six children who survive: Russell Monie, Glenn Monie, Anna Marie Combs, Roseda Mouser, Kathryn Kaehr and Edward Monie. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews have fond memories of Carrie.
Carrie enjoyed playing the piano for many years and was the pianist at Moore's Chapel Church. She was active in this church throughout her life. Her grandfather, Powhattan Rauls was a charter member of Moore's Chapel Church at its founding in 1903.
A highlight of her life was flying to California to visit daughter Kathryn in 1962. During her time out west she was a guest on the television show "It Could Be You".
Funeral services were at Wilson Funeral Home on October 01, 1995 with burial at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
