Mrs G A Adamson, 79, of 655 Kennesaw avenue, NE, founder of the South Side Baptist church and widow of a prominent Baptist minister, died Friday night at a private hospital. Her husband was pastor of the Ponders Avenue, Glenn Street and Antioch Baptist churches in Atlanta.
Mrs Adamson is survived by five sons, T Y, W P, L S, J M and S B Adamson; two daughters, Mrs M H Ozburn and Mrs M B Flatau; 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was born in Clayton county and came to Atlanta in 1892.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon in the Mount Zion Baptist church, Clayton county. Interment will be in the churchyard, with Awtry & Lowndes in charge.

She was the daughter of Henry A Allen & Sarah Phillips who married on 7 Dec 1851 in Meriwether Co GA. Her father was the son of Jeremiah & Susannah Allen who appear on the 1850 Campbell Co GA census. Martha's siblings were Lucinda Elizabeth, Jeremiah, Susan and Mary W Allen.
