He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was also a farmer and a mechanic.

One daughter: Judy Janes (Roscoe); one son: Mike Arnett (Vickie); five sisters: Virginia Akin, Catherine Simpson, Ruth Simpson, Nettie Creason and Ruby Milby; three brothers: Clayton Arnett, Noah Arnett and Raymond Arnett; four grandchildren: Tammy Bryant, Cindy Scott, Josh Arnett and Katie Rafferty; seven great grandchildren: Keith Bryant, Wayne Bryant, Heather Scott, Colton Scott, Macie Arnett, Hunter Arnett and Lily Rafferty; one great-great grandchild: McKinley Bryant; and a host of extended family and friends
