He was born April 2, 1928, in Putnam County, to the late Winefred and Gustavia Withrow. He was also preceded in death by his wives; Edna Withrow, Gracie Withrow, and Elsie Withrow, daughter, Gayle Nelson, and siblings; Woodrow Withrow, Franklin Withrow, Helen Withrow, Sylvia Thornton, Mary Ellen, and Alfred Withrow.
Carvin was a Christian by faith, attending Pilgrim Home Missionary Baptist Church.
There will be a Funeral Service at 2:00 pm Wednesday July 18, 2018, at Bartlett Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Pastor James Arthur officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
