K. C. Hightower of Dodson Dies At Age of 81
Kennie Charles Hightower, 81, of Dodson, retired shipping clerk for Ritchie and Raymond Heard Grocers, died in the Lincoln Hospital at 12 p.m. October 1, 1967 after a long illness. Final rites were conducted at the Dodson Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Ruston, under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston.

Mr. Hightower was a World War II veteran and a member of the Dodson Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ruby Jones Hightower, Dodson; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Rochelle, and one son, Kenneth Lane Hightower, all of Dodson; his mother, Mrs. R. R. Hightower, of Ruston; two brothers, Fred S. Hightower of Monroe and Jack Hightower of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Higginbotham of Ruston, Mrs. A. L. Swanson of Monroe, and Mrs. Ellis White of Ringgold; and three grandchildren.
