DORIS WOLCHUK (nee RUSSIN)

A summons has come and I am ready for my journey.

It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Doris Wolchuk of Winnipeg Beach, peacefully in her home, after a lengthy illness, on January 3, 1989.

Doris was born September 24, 1922 and had lived the majority of her life in her beloved hometown of Winnipeg Beach. She was educated there and returned after a few years working in Winnipeg to raise her family and live. She was well known as co-owner of the Lone Oak Motel till retirement. Then, to fill her time she followed family tradition and worked for the Post Office for several years prior to her illness. Doris was active at home and in the community. We will miss her humor, love, caring and giving. She will always be with us in our hearts and our memories. She has touched many lives and this we will have forever.

Doris will be sadly missed by her children, Vivian and husband Wally Boitson of Winnipeg, Wanda and husband Kris Kardal and grandsons, Ryan and Curtis of Thunder Bay; son C. John of Surrey, B.C., sisters, Angie and husband Ron Brown of Brandon, Agnes and husband Ron Brazier of Winnipeg, Georgianne Chudo of Winnipeg, Pat Russin of Winnipeg Beach, and numerous nieces, nephew. and friends. She was predeceased by her mother Gertrude, father John and brother Ben.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 7, at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Bartholemews Anglican Church, Winnipeg Beach, with Rev. Pete Cain officiating. Service will terminate at the church and a luncheon will follow in the Winnipeg Beach Legion.

The family wish to express their thanks to Dr. Goldenburg and the Cancer Foundation, also to family and friends who gave comfort and support during Mom's lengthy illness. We greatly acknowledge the empathy and understanding of Nonna, Joy , and Debbie who through the Interlake Home Care or Gimli allowed Mom to spend her last days at home as comfortably and independent as she was able, her ever faithful Peppy by her side.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Manitoba Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, RJC 929, would be greatly appreciated.

We think and miss you so much,
We pray at last you are filled with peace.
You are with us always in our hearts,
Your memory we will always keep.

Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
