Survivors include his daughter, Jan Harmon of Pahoa, Hawaii; two grandchildren, Jason Bothwell, M.D., of Hawaii, and Lori Haruzi of Greenwood; and two great grandchildren, Seth and Emma Haruzi. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hubert, Ray, James, and Dale Harmon; and a sister Martha Lee Bright.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Radar Operator on the U.S.S. Munda in the Pacific Ocean. A machine operator, he was employed for 39 years at International Harvester, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin for over 50 years, where he had served the church in many capacities. He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #107 F. & A.M., where he served as Worshipful Master in 1955. He served the following 19 years as lodge Secretary. His memberships included the Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, the High 12 Club, and the Franklin Order of the Eastern Star #439, serving as Worthy Patron in 1975.
Services were entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home of Greenwood, Indiana.
