Martha was the daughter of Dudley and Julia Evaleen Davis Harmon Jr.

Her siblings: Hubert Marshall Harmon (1908-1966); James Morris 'Bus' Harmon (1911-1987); Ray Denzil 'Shorty' Harmon (1913-2002); Dudley Harmon Jr (1915-2007) and Dale Thomas Harmon (1920-1923).

She married Samuel 'Wendell' Bright on May 29, 1942 in Johnson Co, Indiana.

Their children: Terry Wendell Bright and Gary Brent Bright.

Martha was an active church member and a lifetime resident of the Honey Creek community in Johnson Co, Indiana. She graduated from Center Grove High School in Johnson Co, Indiana in 1940.

A homemaker, she was a member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church and president of its Ladies Aid and a 35 year member of Pink Ladies and the Hospital Guide at Johnson County Memorial Hospital, Franklin, Indiana.
