Eleanor Prue Humphrey McKee, age 92, of Waynesville, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Miller County on February 18, 1919, daughter of the late Oliver Omega and Anna M. (Newhart) Abbet. On October 12, 1940, in California, Missouri, Prue married Norman Merle Humphrey, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1996. In July of 1999 Prue married Jennings McKee, who survives.

Prue was a graduate of the Iberia Academy. She began teaching in Miller County at Rabbit Head School. She was very proud that three generations of her family had all completed college, including herself. She enjoyed teaching and reminiscing about her students. She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association.

Prue made her profession of faith at a young age, where she was a charter member of Westside Baptist Church of Waynesville and she attended Bray's Advent Christian Church in Iberia.

She is survived by one son, Randy Humphrey and wife Julie of Springfield; two grandsons, Clint Humphrey and wife Krissy of Overland Park, Kansas and Adam Humphrey and wife Mandy of Springfield; and one great-grandson, Samuel Martin Humphrey of Overland Park, Kansas.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Martin "Marty" Humphrey and one sister, Faye Arnold.

Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., with services immediately following at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Bray's Advent Christian Church near Iberia. Rev. Roy Gilkey and Rev. Lindell Sheldon will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bray's Advent Christian Church or Hand in Hand Ministries of Springfield.
