BATON ROUGE -- Ernest H. Shirley, 53, died at his Baton Rouge residence Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Southern Funeral Home chapel in Winnfield with the Rev. Don Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield.

Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Judy Land of Pensacola, Fla.; a son, Charles N. Shirley of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Mae Blair and Mrs. Zelma Dunn, both of Winnfield, and Mrs. Mildred Thornton of Huntington, Calif.; a brother, Alon L. Shirley of Winnfield; and four grandchildren.
