- Raymond Lee King Sr., age 87, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2003 at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1915 in Sutherland, Utah the son of Volney H. and Fannie Wallace King. Raymond married Amy Wagstaff on September 11, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on May 21, 1992.
He served in the Navy during World War II as a pharmaceutical 1st class.
Raymond was a member of the LDS church and served three missions, Minnesota, and Birmingham, Alabama and Johannesburg, South Africa with his wife, a home teacher, temple worker and sealer. He also
did name extraction for the Ellis Island Project.
He was a member of the Lions Club, Carpenter Building and Construction Trades Council and International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Raymond like woodworking, gardening, crocheting, reading, telling stories and helping others.
Surviving are his son, Raymond Lee (Chyrl) King Jr., Kaysville; three daughters, Julia K. (Clark) Chadwick, American Fork; Suzanne King, Roy; and Grace Greenhalgh, Bountiful; 10 grandchildren, Jay and Alan Chadwick, Mirriam (Mattew) Draper, Paul, Stephanie and Jonathan King, and three great-grandchildren, Jotham and Diamalynne Draper and Ethan Dragon. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters, four brothers and one grandchild, Philip Dragon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main.
Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
