She attended Abraham Lincoln, and Emerson Junior High, graduating from Pomona High School class of 1951. Sharon was a Girl Scout in grammar school and excelled in art and music. She was a member of Jobs Daughters. She was a Rally Chairman in high school. Sharon graduated from Fresno State College. She played Antigone in the play of the same name. She received her Elementary teaching credential. She did graduate work at Pomona College.
She taught school for the South Whittier School District. She was a recipient of a PTA Life Award. She was a licensed reading specialist by the State of California.
During the sixties she played the guitar and learned to fence.
Sharon and her husband Phil were puppeteers and made their own puppets. She often used them in her classroom. She was a member of The Conservatory of Puppetry Arts (COPA),
and the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry - Puppeteers of America. They were puppeteers for the Renaissance Pleasure Faire and later became meet and greet actors at the front gate. They were members of the Mongers, St. Genesius and St. Cuthbert's Guilds. Her stage name Was Saini Fickett. They performed at several of the Renaissance and Pirate Faire's all over the State for over thirty years. You could often find Sharon at the front gate entertaining both children and adults with her Queen Elizabeth puppet or on stage performing one of the many humorous plays. Shari was a costumer making costumes for family members and friends.
Phil and Sharon performed at The Dickens Festivals both in Northern California and Riverside each year. Their characters at the Riverside Festival were Mr & Mrs. Fezziwig.Sharon was Mrs. Santa Claus to Phil's Santa every year at Christmas. They performed for various private parties and clubs. She would hand out candy to the children, play the piano and sing. She and Phil were truly Santa and Mrs. Santa to So many! Her grandchildren, Krissy and Mackenzie, nieces and nephews all adored her.
