The rains have passed
One massive and gray cumulus cloud floats in the western sky
Its southern edge sculpted in blinding sun whitened light
Quiet gives dignity to the moment

A slight movement of air causes an oak tree branch into swaying
The leaves vibrate but no sound reaches the watcher's ears
No birds are flying from tree to tree which is odd.

Feathered parents have nests
The broken Robin eggs attest to young being born
Everything is waiting

Solid gray tinged with blue sky envelopes the morning stillness
A single Mockingbird calls for a mate
A mechanical humming dominates the waves of sound
Everything else is still and silent
Will the sun shine again

A yellow banded wasp inspects the wind chimes
The afternoon sun colors the sky with its radiant light
The air is warm
The still continues

Released into the heavens
A pink and cornflower blue butterfly soars in clockwise circles Upward and upward until it passes out of sight

No longer bound
The freedom in its flight is apparent
Yet a sadness tinged with good fortune
Is left behind

The sun setting behind the trees and the stone
Gathered around supporting a great love
We listened to the Pastor's kindness

Late November wind chilled our bodies
Warmth passed between us
As we felt the beautiful soul of Nancy Laura

Sadness being left with memories
Yet knowing her happiness and beauty
Gives strength to each of our lives

Deep hugs communion of our spirits
Kisses and shared love
Ashes to ashes dust to dust ~ Tom
