From church bulletin for her funeral:
AUGUSTA CHRISTINA FENN
1899-1990
Our Lord granted life on this earth to our sister in Christ, Augusta Fenn, on December 26, 1899. She was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin, to the late Ludwig Adams and his wife Helena (nee) Felker. She was only two years of age when her father died. The family moved to the city of Clintonville, having lived before in the rural area near the city. Her Mother later married William Messerschmidt, and the family then moved to a farm in the Township of Pella.
It was there that she married Leonard B. Fenn in 1917. The young couple first farmed near Clintonville, but then moved to the city of Clintonville. In 1919 they moved to the Townsend area where they developed a farm in the pioneer tradition. They continued farming until Leonard retired. They moved to the Village of Pella, living there for 22 years.
In 1979 they returned to Townsend, and lived in that beautiful log home in the village itself. Because of an injury and ill health, Augusta entered NuRoc Nursing Home in 1983.
Her beloved husband died in 1986. She is survived by two daughters: Evelyn Evrard and Eleanor Zimdars both of Townsend; and two sons: Lawrence Fenn of Townsend and Byron Fenn of Livermore, California. One sister also survives, Martha Rades of Pella, Wisconsin, and also a stepsister, Ella Groth of Ripon. Another sister-in-law, Lena Adams (Mrs. Edwin) of Marion, joins the family in mourning the death of Augusta. There are also 15 grandchildren who remember with love their Grandma, and there are several Great Grandchildren who also will miss "Grandma." At the time of her death she had one Great Great Granddaughter.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a Step-Father, three Step-brothers, 3 brothers, 2 Half-brothers and 1 Step-Sister.
She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church, and I remember as I entered her home the smell of home baked bread, and I have heard she made the best Butterscotch Pie in the State.
