Mr. Jim Murphy of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 having attained the age of 90 years, 4 months, and 22 days. He was born in Cumberland County, Kentucky on Friday, December 9, 1927, the son of Russell and Clara McCoy Murphy. He worked at J.A. Jones Construction Company having worked in various states throughout his career.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Murphy and Don Murphy; his sisters, Margie Shepherd, Barbara Allen, and Betty Vincent.

He is survived by his daughter, Candace (and Michael) Downing of Moore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Clinton Brady and Desiree (and Sonny) Keiser; great-grandchildren, Courtney Brady, Zoey Jackson, Konner Jackson, Wade Keiser and Ty Keiser; brother, Gary (and Marleen) Murphy of Bowling Green, Kentucky; his sisters, Charlotte (and Bill) Guffey of Burkesville, Kentucky, and Becky Spears of Glasgow, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and friends.

The burial of the cremains will be on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Modoc Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. Norris-New Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of local arrangements.
