Dorothy Shakota of Brighton, a seamstress and hotel worker, died March 18. She was 102. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. April 3 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 675 E. Egbert St., Brighton. There will be cremation.

She was born Dorothy Bieker on Jan. 16, 1899, in Schoenchen, Kan.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Nick Herman and her second husband, Sam Shakota.

She was a seamstress at Denver Tent and Awning and worked in many Denver hotels. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Her interests included sewing and travel.

She is survived by a son, Nicholas, Poland, Ind.; two brothers, Barney Bieker, Brighton, and Pete Bieker, Artesia, N.M.; and two sisters, Adeline Schmidt, Victorville, Calif., and Irene Keller, Westminster.
