Clyde C. Edwards
1928 - 2018

Clyde C. Edwards, of Provo, Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Clyde lived a healthy, active, full and satisfying life until succumbing to a short battle with cancer.

Although Clyde was born November 28, 1928, in Rochester, Utah [now known as Moore, Utah, to Homer John and Naomi Funk Edwards], He made very good use of the current century, he would have been equally suited to the one just passed.

He's said, "I just really enjoyed the life of the last century. Some think I'd have been happier living then, but there was a peaceful simplicity yet the struggle of man against the elements that I find very rewarding."

He was a scientist, educator, and a lifelong learner. He was a passionate horseman, avid sportsman, talented craftsman, Cowboy Poet and wordsmith, animal lover, accomplished rancher, and farmer. He was most proud to be worthy of the moniker of "old time mule-skinner".

He received his PhD in Zoology and helped generations of high school and university students discover their enthusiasm for the life sciences.

He was a dedicated husband to his wife of 33 years and was grateful for her love, companionship, care, and for the adventurous life they had built together. Horses and mules were their passion and provided partnership, enjoyment, many wonderful memories and hilarious stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sibling. He is survived by his sister, his wife, four children, 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In Clyde's own words, "I've lived a long full life by any man's standard."
