1928 - 2008
LuWana King Edwards passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of October 6, 2008 of natural causes. She spent the weekend prior to her death with family and friends and remained independent and active until the end.
LuWana lived her life an example to all as a disciple of the Lord. Serving full-time in the Northern California Mission set a precedent which continued through her later years where she magnified callings in the Relief Society presidency and at the Provo MTC.
LuWana ignited dreams in others as a life-long educator. After graduating from BYU and Louisiana State University she worked as an elementary school teacher and librarian, inspiring and supporting children and colleagues for more than thirty years.
She was an international traveler, a cancer survivor, an avid reader, a theater enthusiast and a loyal friend to many.
LuWana lived selflessly devoted to her family. Her passion and energy were directed towards motivating and encouraging her children and grandchildren. She instilled a genuine love for life, interest, curiosity, and willingness to serve. She will be greatly missed by those who survive her: children JaNel Moore of Sandy, Utah, Eric Edwards of Denver, Colorado, brothers Joe and Eugene King, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Love you always Gram.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cherry Hill 3rd Ward Chapel, 1650 South 200 East, Orem, UT. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the chapel. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
