Sophronia was born June 18, 1827. The date on her tombstone is wrong. Proof of this is found in the "Bio Souvenir"" written by her brother Henry Pryor Almand in 1889.
She is twin sister to Graves B. Almand. Please go to his findagrave memorial - 18002222.
Sophronia first married Josiah Wallace October 11, 1844 in Newton County Georgia.
Family history says that in 1859 - Josiah Wallace was accidentally shot.
They had nine (9) children:
Henry Tom born 1846
John Floyd born 1847
Joseph Hamilton born 1849
Bennett G. born 1851
Nancy C. born 1853
William M. born 1854
Josephine born 1856
Rachel Virginia born 1858
Eugenia born 1860
Her second marriage was October 25, 1866 in Newton County, Georgia to Moses Wallace born October 1811 in South Carolina.
They had one son - Charley C.
In the 1870 census;
Sophronia Wallace is living in Subdivision 163, Newton, Georgia with five children. Post Office: Conyers.
(In October 18, 1870 a new county was created - on the 1880 Census -Conyers IS now in Rockdale County.)
