Obituary from the Conyers Weekly - October 14, 1899:
Deaths - After an illness of about 4 weeks, during which time he was most tenderly nursed by his physician, relatives and friend, Uncle Dock Almand died at his home here last Monday moring. He had been in feeble health for a number of years and left his home infrquently, but he will be missed, not only by his fmily but many true friends. It is thought that his death resulted from a partial stroke of paralysis. He was 74 years of age and until his health gaveway was a most active man, succesful in business an other undertakings.
He was a splended citizen, just to his fellow man, a type of honesty that all may emulatewithout vanity and despising hyprocracy.
He passed charateristics we all admird and we may all profit by them. He is dead and we all hope and believe he has gone to rest.
To the aged wife and the devoted sons and daughter who survive him we exted sympathy in their sore bereavement.
Thank you! Shirley Ann Bennett Barham
