Chambersburg, Pa. -- BETTY E. BURKHOLDER, 48, of Rt. 1, died Monday at the Milton Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa. Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Clarence O. and Elsie Shives Blair.

was a graduate of the Mercersburg High School. She was owner and operator of the Continental Beauty Shop in Fayetteville and also Betty Burkholder's Beauty Shop in Scotland. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. She was a member of the chancel choir and secretary of the board of trustees. She was also a member of the Martha Custus Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd K. Burkholder, Chambersburg; son, Daniel L. Burkholder, at home; four sisters, Wilma Walker, Mercersburg; Verna Mowen, Waynesboro; Kathryn Black, Chambersburg; and Janet Tahylor, Greencastle; six brothers, Harry O. Blair, Chambersburg; Irvin Blair, Hagerstown; and John E., Thomas E., Dean R. and Richard O. Blair, all of Greencastle; and one grandson.

Services were held at the Calvary United Methodist Church. Burial was in Parklawns Memorial Garden.
