OBITUARY :
MR. THOMAS EDWARD BLAIR, 74, of 4085 Coseytown Road, Greencastle, PA passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014 in Quincy Village, Quincy, PA.

Born April 24, 1939 in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence Omar and Elsie Florence (Shives) Blair.

Mr. Blair was a graduate of Clear Spring High School with the Class of 1957 and later served in the United States Army for two years.

He and his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Sonia J. (Evans) Blair, were married March 31, 1961.

In his early life, Mr. Blair was employed for Heisey's Orchards. He later worked as a carpenter for Blake Co., John R. Oliver Co., and AC & T.

He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, Greencastle, where he served as a church trustee and was active with the bus ministry.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Dr. Anthony L. Blair and his wife, Carol of Lititz, PA, Pamela Blair Hoffeditz and her husband, Daryl of Fayetteville, PA and Angela M. Grove and her husband, David of Maugansville, MD; six grandchildren, Rachel Hubbs, Alia Blair, Andrew Grove, Victoria Hoffeditz, Cameron Grove and Elizabeth Hoffeditz; one sister, Janet Taylor of Greencastle; three brothers, John Blair and Richard Blair, both of Greencastle and Irvin Blair of Hagerstown, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Wilma Walker, Verna Mowen, Catherine Black and Betty Burkholder; and three brothers, Clarence Blair, Harry Blair and Dean Blair.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 6, 2014 in Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church, 3664 Coseytown Road, Greencastle with Pastor Douglas Sandman and his son, Dr. Anthony L. Blair officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5to 7 P.M., Sunday, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 South Washington Street, Greencastle.
