Age 83, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Owosso, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010.
Mr. McCarthy was born April 13, 1927, in Owosso, the son of William Howard and Audly (Oakes) McCarthy.
He was a member of Owosso Country Club, Owosso City Club, Board of Realtors and the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mabel McCarthy; children Jerry McCarthy (Phyllis), Patrice Baumhart and John McCarthy (Diane); brother Timothy McCarthy (Mary Ellen); sisters Patty Huska (Robert), Janet Balcom (Fred), Judy Mallery (Bill) and sister-in-law Dawn McCarthy; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents; sisters Joyce Ackerman and Margaret "Peggy" George; brothers John "Jack" McCarthy, William "Bill" McCarthy and Clarence "Bud" McCarthy.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
