She died: Dec. 5, 1974 of Pneumonia in Butler Co. PA. Grace was his second wife. Adolphus had divorced his first wife Between 1909 and 1911.

Adolphus and she were true soul mates and very much in love even in their senior years. In the 1960's most of their disagreements were very mild and settled quite quickly without any fuss. The disagreement usually ended with her saying "Now Dolph". And his saying "Yes, Grace".

Their Children were:

Irma L. Cypher (Married: Cletus Cypher) Born Sept.21, 1911 died April 12, 1997 Butler Co., Pa.

Esther Elisabeth Pyle (married Charles Pyle) Born Jan. 24,1913 Died: Sep. 18 2005 Butler Co. Pa.

Martha Asenath Graham Minteer (Married: Arthur H. Minteer) Born: June 14, 1918 in Lisbon, Ohio Died: Feb. 10, 2003 in Huntsville, Al. Her cremated ashes remain with family at this time.

These children were all born in various parts of Columbiana County, Ohio This was where Grace and Adolphus lived shortly after they were married until late in the 1920's.

Adolphus then returned to Butler Co. PA. He worked on a farm for a man named Graham, who was no relation to the family. the farm they lived on was in the Fenelton , Clearfield Township, Butler Co. Pa area. Grace kept the house, raised her children and helped with farming chores. They lived at this farm until about 1935 to 1939. In 1940 Adolphus her Husband was working at a Dairy farm.

One story told to the family, concerned a slightly used Model A Ford. They were the first family to have a car in their neighborhood. Adolphus had the car jacked up to work on it one day. The car slipped off the jack and fell on Adolphus pinning him underneath the car. Grace Graham was only 4'11" and at that time probably weighed about 90 to 100 lbs. at most. She was so scared that she lifted the bumper of the car enough for Adolph us to crawl out from underneath the car. Model A's were very heavy cars.
In 1941 Grace and her husband moved to Tennessee and her husband was working for Harrison Construction Company.

In 1943 Grace moved with her husband, daughter Martha and son-in-law Arthur Henry Minteer to Oak Ridge TN. Adolphus worked, along side his son -in-law Arthur Minteer, in the maintenance of the excavation machinery that helped to build the Oak Ridge "A- bomb" facilities which were part of "The Manhattan Project".

She and Adolphus then moved at the end of WWII (1945) to ALCOA, TN. with her daughter Martha and son-in-law Arthur Minteer. Grace and Adolphus retired and lived in a small travel trailer on that property their son-in-law owned in ALCOA ,TN. The "Minteer's" lived in a large Travel trailer side by side with the "Graham's" .
In 1957 Arthur and Martha bought a home in Maryville, TN. and they all moved again. "The Minteer" home was located in the Wildwood Rd. "Mitchell Hollow" area of Maryville. Grace and her husband Adolphus Graham both resided in a travel trailer on their son-in-laws property. She resided there until her death in 1966.

Grace loved to help her daughter can food for the winter and had a secret delicious "Sweet Bread and Butter" pickle recipe. She also was very knowledgeable about certain plants and herbs used to treat illnesses. She liked to sew and a red and white checked dress she made for her granddaughter "Myra" is being still passed down through that family line. Grace also helped care for her daughter's adopted children Myra S. and Marvin Minteer when her daughter would run errands and do her grocery shopping.

Grace did not for some reason like children climbing trees. The "Minteer" children had a favorite Sour Cherry tree they loved to climb. On such occasions she would yell out to them to "Get down out of that Cherry tree before you break an arm or a leg" and "Quit eating those sour cherries or you both will have a stomach ache". Quite naughtily the children tended not to climb down from the cherry tree until their mother came home from her errands and shopping.

Grace and Adolphus were loyal believers and members of "The Church of Christ." They attended every Sunday morning and evening worship service and Wednesday night Bible studies the church had unless one of them was sick. Grace attended the Maryville, Tn. "Church of Christ" for more than 11 years until her death. Grace also with her daughter Martha would often go to "Quilting Bee's" held by the church ladies to make quilts for the poor and those that lost their homes in some disaster.

Grace died of a stroke on Sept. 15,1966. She was on a trip visiting her family in the Butler Co. ,PA. area. Grace is buried beside her husband in Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery in Butler Co. Pa. Grace is greatly missed by family and friends.
