Barbara Jane McIntyre, 92, of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

She was born on August 18, 1925 in Danville, IN to the late Fred H. and Helen (Ader) Stewart.

Barbara graduated from Clarks Hill High School in 1943. She graduated from Virginia Intermont Junior College.

On June 5, 1947, she married Floyd McIntyre in Stockwell and he survives.

Barbara had been a substitute teacher and reading aide for Tippecanoe School Corporation until her retirement in 1972. She had previously worked for Purdue University.

Barbara is a member of Stockwell United Methodist Church. Her life was dedicated to Bill, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and genealogy

Surviving with her husband are four children; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Stewart.

A Memorial Service will be held at Stockwell United Methodist on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Mark Berg officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery in Stockwell.
