Maude Helton-Baldwin, age 82 of Mattoon, IL, formerly of El Paso, TX, passed away at 10:25 A.M., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Life’s Journey Senior Living in Mattoon, IL.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Maude was born on January 18, 1936 in Shelby County, IL the daughter of Robert R. and Nellie F. (Lewis) Armstrong. She married Robert E. Helton in Shelby County in 1955; he preceded her in death in 1978. She remarried Clyde R. Baldwin in El Paso, TX in 1991, he passed away in 2004. Maude is survived by her two children; one daughter, Roberta E. Corbell and husband Bob of Glenwood, NM, one son, Bob E. Helton II and wife Beth of Toledo, IL; three grandchildren, Rhiannon E. Lee and husband Jim of Amsterdam, MO, Nicholas R. Helton of Mattoon, IL, Zachary A. Helton and wife Jenni of Mattoon, IL; four great-grandchildren, Austin J. and Kenzey F. Lee of Amsterdam, MO, Vivian E. and Zoey A. Helton of Mattoon, IL; two brothers, Forest D. Armstrong of Fort Myers, FL, Max D. Armstrong of Shelbyville, IL; four sisters, Jessie M. Polley and husband Eddie of Decatur, IL, Glenna S. Taylor and husband Robert of Beecher City, IL, Marian L. Lorton and husband Brad of Williamsville, IL, and Eileen McElroy and husband Robert of Fort Myers, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Maude was a member of the Church of God in El Paso, TX. She was registered nurse at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX, former employee of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital, CCAR (Care Compassion Acceptance Respect) Industries, and Director of Nursing of Heritage House. She loved her faith, led a youth group in Humboldt, IL, and listened to Keith Green Christian music often. Maude had many wonderful past times with family and spoiling her grandchildren. Her love and kindness will be cherished forever.
