Ruth J. Silcox Dexter, 80, died September 28, 2000 in Midvale, Utah of complications due to age.
Born December 7, 1919 in West Jordan, Utah to Myrtle Evans and Lawrence Dyet. Married Donald N. Silcox on June 1, 1940 in Riverton, Utah. Don preceded her in death. Married Floyd Dexter on Feb. 28, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was a member of the LDS Church. She worked as a baker at ZCMI and later at the Lion House in Salt Lake City.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Dexter; daughters, Karen Hilborn, Nyla Walton, Mrs. Duane (Shiela) Brown, Mrs. Kenneth (Cheryl) Burns; sons, Vaughn (Linda) Silcox and Kevin Silcox; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-daughter. Preceded in death by her son, Vern Silcox; two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Bonnie Lee and the nurses and aides of Home Service Care, who cared for Mrs. Dexter.
Funeral services Monday, Oct. 2, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Midvale 1st Ward Chapel, 308 West 6th Avenue. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Monday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
