Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Welcome Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Lyn Lambert and the Rev. Shannon Critcher officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Wilkes County to Albert and Rita Goforth. She was retired from Vespers Nursing Home. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Lee Jones; a daughter, Barbara Jones Johnson; a son, Jerry Jones; a granddaughter, Leigh Ann Culverhouse; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Aletta Grayson and husband Jay, Melba Cheek and husband Jimmy and two brothers, Raynard and Merle Goforth.
She is survived by a son, Nicky Jones and wife, Martha of Millers Creek; six grandchildren, Chris Jones and wife, Kay, Nicolas Jones and wife, Kristy, Patrick Jones, Kelly Johnson, Courtney Baker and husband, Alan and Kelsey Jones; five great-grandchildren, Abby Jones, Brock Jones, Quinn Culverhouse, Gabe Culverhouse and Josh Bumgarner; a sister, Hazel Powell of North Wilkesboro; two brothers, Allie Goforth and wife, Helen of Purlear, Bob Goforth and wife, Zelma, of Ferguson; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Goforth of Ferguson and Doris Goforth of Ferguson; a son-in-law, Dean Johnson of Wilkesboro and a daughter-in-law, Susan Jones of Greenwood, S.C.
