IRVIN E. TARNER SR., 61, of 2230 Ontario Drive, died Thursday at Washington County Hospital. Born in Chambersburg, Pa., he was a son of Garnet and Eva Crider Tarner.

Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Superior Dairy. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Jane Elliott Tarner; son, Irvin E. Tarner, Jr., Hagerstown; daughter, Mrs. Bernadette Jane Farrow, Hagerstown; sister, Mrs. Louise Eckel, Chambersburg, Pa.; brother, Glenn Tarner, Hagerstown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were held at the Rest Haven Funeral Home. Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
