Ellis E. Burnham, Sr., age 74, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007. Ellis served in the U.S. Army for 28 years, having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, he served with the Escambia County School Board for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesse James Burnham, Sr. and Lillybell Cook; his two brothers, Jesse James Burnham, Jr., and Bill Burnham. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mildred Godwin Burnham; his daughters, Paula Logsdon and her husband, David, Cindy Fickel and her husband, John, Jane Burnham, Joan Garcia and her husband, Oscar, Joyce Hunt and her husband, Robert, Lisa Childs and her husband, Vincent; his son, Ellis E. Burnham, Jr.; 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren; his step mother, Virgie Burnham; his step sister, Patricia McArthur; his step brother, Charles Edward Burnham. He will be remembered as a loving father and husband.
