"Funeral services for Mrs. Nona Dowell McCloud, 82, were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Southside Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Robert Hicks, Baptist minister of Hannibal, officated at the rites. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery. Mrs. McCloud died about 7:10 p.m. Friday at Audrain Medical Center, where she was admitted the previous day. Death was attributed to a heart attack and complications. A daughter of John and Flora Shulze Hendrix, she was born July 24, 1892, near Center in Ralls county. She was educated in schools in that area. She was married to Jettie Dowell in 1913, and he preceded her in death in November 1966. She was later married to Rev. McCloud, who died in May 1974. Surviving are two sons, Malcolm Dowell and Lloyd Dowell, of here; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Zelma Murphy, Mrs. Ruby Webb, Center, and Delbert Hendrix, Rock Island, Ill. Two sons, Elbert and Paul Dowell, also preceded her in death."
