VANDALIA - Loyd C. Dowell, 73, of Vandalia, died Thursday morning, Dec. 17, 1992 at Tri County Nursing Home, Vandalia. He had worked for C.E. Refractories Co. at Farmer as an equipment operator until he retired several years ago.
Services have been set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Waters Funeral Home. The Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate and burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Mr. Dowell was born at Center on April 20, 1919, to Jettie and Nona Hendrix Dowell. He was married on Feb. 13, 1999 to Josephine Benn, who died Feb. 13, 1987.
Surviving are a son and two daughters, J.C. Dowell, Mrs. Billy Joe (Judy) White and Mrs. Fred (Bonnie) Schambach, all of Vandalia; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Dowell was a member of the Adiel Baptist Church.
