==========================

The son of John & Martha McCord (Snoddy) Brown, in 1860 he was living with his family on their farm in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. He married Catharine Poorman ca. 1862 and fathered Emma May (b. 11/12/65 or 66 - married Edwin A. Brown), Henrietta A. (b. 02/05/72 - married John Henry Kope), Galen (b. @1875), and Anna (b. 09/??/82). By 1865, he stood 5' 6" tall and had dark hair and gray eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted at the stated age of twenty-three in Harrisburg February 20, 1865, mustered into federal service there February 21 as a private with the 101st Pennsylvania Infantry in the second organization of Co. D, and honorably discharged with his company June 25, 1865.

Catharine died June 23, 1903, and he married Priscilla Ramsey, January 24, 1907.

He died from a "cerebral hemorrhage" with "arteriosclerosis" a contributing factor. Oddly, other than a notice of his estate, no mention of his death was found in any online newspaper archive.
