WILHELMINE SCHMIDT
Mrs. Wilhelmina Schmidt, 85, widow of Fred Schmidt and a resident of Two Rivers
since 1883, died Sunday at the home, 2710 Forest avenue in that city. She had
been ill several months.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the Jansky
funeral home and at two o’clock from St. John’ Lutheran church, the Rev. W.G.
Haase officiating. Interment will be made in Pioneers’ Rest cemetery.
Mrs. Schmidt, nee Wilhelmine Wiese, was born in Germany on Nov. 26, 1855. She was
married to Fred Schmidt in Germany and a few years later, in 1883, the couple came
to America and came directly to Two Rivers. Mr. Schmidt died in 1916.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Kaufman of Ludington, Mich., Mrs. Elsie
Thys of Gladstone, Mich., and Mrs. Esther Sonnenberg of Stevens Point, Wis.; two
sons, Reinholdt of Ludington, Mich., and Henry of Two Rivers; one sister, Mrs.
August Gustin, Appleton; two brothers, Herman Wiese of Appleton and August Wiese
of Iowa; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Jansky funeral home and may be viewed there until the
time of the funeral.
